TEAM

  • KELLY AGATHOS

    Director, Writer, Host

Kelly is a professional improviser, actor and voiceover artist.

After nearly a decade spent working in EU affairs, Kelly quit her job to pursue her passion. She runs ImproBubble, a company through which she and other professional improvisers offer improv-based training for the stage, the workplace and life.

Kelly spent lockdown brushing up on her freestyle rap, sketch and stand up and is thrilled whenever she can sprinkle some of these skills into The Schuman Show!

  • LISE WITTEMAN

    Co-founder, Treasurer, Researcher

Lise is the lead of the EU desk of investigative journalism platform Follow the Money. In 2021 she published a book on the hidden Dutch agenda for European policies: Sluiproute Brussel (‘Backdoor Brussels’).

With the Schuman Show she is mainly focused on developing online video content that explains EU affairs with a comedic twist. Her aim is to get a bigger part of the European audience interested and involved in European democracy.

  • MONA MEDAN

    Communications, Production

Mona is a comms and projects professional. A seasoned Plux expert (not – only – because of the afterwork, she’s actually worked in several of the buildings around the oval), she has navigated through several NGOs and EU institutions in European affairs and the cultural and creative sectors. You’ll often find her behind the scenes at the Schuman Show, sharing memes on the socials or managing the show evenings at the theatre.

  • TRISTAN BARBER

    Writer, Performer

Tristan Barber is a Brussels-based standup comic, performance artist and improviser with a passion for the strange and unexpected. With a background in EU politics, his comedy covers a wide range of topics through a uniquely cynical yet playful and energetic tone – he is Canadian after all.
Tristan is the co-producer of the Love Letters to Satan cabaret and one half of the online Super Fun Comedy show.

  • LOUISE LARNACH DAY

    Writer, Performer

Louise is a recovering lobbyist with a comedy problem. Louise has been working in political communication in Brussels for the past 8 years.

Trained at the Second City in Chicago, Louise has been performing in Brussels since 2016.

  • PAUL DALLISON

    Sketch Editor, Writer, Performer

Paul Dallison is a Brussels-based editor at Politico Europe and writer of the satirical Declassified column.

He has been described as a "'vile monolithic left-wing corrupt lying swamp creature."

  • BARRY MCKEON

    Writer, Performer

Barry got into comedy when a well-intentioned friend coaxed him into a late-night open mic in Berlin in 2010. There, he co-founded the musical comedy group A Spoonful of Deutschland, bringing German history to life through the power of Disney, hosted and performed in Berlin’s burgeoning comedy scene.

Lobbyist by day, Barry has been performing on stages in Belgium, the Netherlands and Ireland since 2016, helping found the “Insecure & Dangereux” comedy nights.

  • DANIEL MORA

    Writer, Performer

Dani joined the Schuman Show in October 2022. Originally hired to provide sangria and olives to the team, he was offered to join when he accomplished the feat of translating a joke by Chiquito de la Calzada into Victorian English. Now he tries to get Southern Europeans to show up in time for the show.

Lobbyist and Brussels bubbler by day, he attempts to make some sense of it all through comedy. He has practiced stand up and improvisation for the last five years in Madrid, New York and Brussels, including sketch writing courses at Upright Citizens Brigade in NYC.

  • HILLE AUVINEN

    Stage Manager

Hille trained as an actor and performer, but at The Schuman Show she’s the boss backstage. Kind, calm, and collected - but strict when it comes to costumes, props, and stage logistics! From beginning to end, she’ll ensure the show goes smoothly. Hille’s just as passionate and resourceful when it comes to designing challenges: she’s a DIY queen! Have you seen those alien tentacles on stage? During the day, Hille teaches to young students.

  • GABRIEL SOLER

    Director

Gabriel Soler is a Spanish actor born in Valencia, the city with more than 300 days of sun per year. Like every curious artist in search of contrasts, he left the good weather and moved to Brussels. Gabriel loves beach volleyball and surfing, but as a committed looking for drama, you'll often find him in central Europe working as an international full-time actor and director for TV shows, films, theatre and opera.

  • EDWARD MCMILLAN

    Theatre Coach, Choreographer

Edward is Artistic Director of The Bridge Theatre, a Brussels non-profit delivering socially-relevant professional theatre productions and community workshops. Trained in musical theatre, Edward uses his musical and choreographic skills with the cast of The Schuman Show, teaching them to become all-dancing triple threats.

In his experience of working as an EU diplomat and speech writer, Edward is passionate about helping officials and lobbyists level up their public speaking skills. He is also a volunteer speaker coach with TEDxBrussels.

  • JOSE MIGUEL CALATAYUD

    Researcher, Writer

Jose is a freelance journalist and writer based in Berlin since 2020, having previously been in Barcelona, Istanbul, Nairobi and London. He now focuses on feature writing and investigative journalism, and has been lately paying special attention to the excesses of corporate influence in the political process.

Jose discovered improv theatre in 2018 in Barcelona and has been trying to get better at it since then … so far with moderate success. He does research and writing for The Schuman Files, and aspires to be on stage in the future, even if only in the role ‘Tree Standing In the Background’.
